A few weeks ago, by chance, except I believe nothing happens by chance, I got to meet Stacey Thacker, author of Hope for the Weary Mom. Today, because of that simplest online connection I have the honor of posting over at Mothers of Daughters, also known as the Mod Squad.
Friends, I never take for granted the opportunity to get to write my thoughts out here. And I am in awe of the way God has taken the little words I write and blown them to places I never would have imagined just a few months ago. I’ll save the details for another post, but I guess this is what it looks like when you bravely offer even your smallest talents, your humblest gifts to Him.
Thank you for being apart of this little journey – for reading and sharing and inviting your friends. Your support has made me braver than ever.
Anyhow, enough of the sappy stuff. I really am honored to be posting about Courageous Mothering for the Mod Squad today. Here is an except from my post. I really do hope you’ll pop over and read it.
Bravely,
“We wrap our hearts around another human being, a little person that can exasperate us and exhaust us while at the same time fill our hearts to overflowing joy and I don’t know about you but sometimes I have this lingering fear that I’m messing it all up.
Our kids are unique and complicated and come with their own will, their own bent, their own desires and talents and weaknesses and we, as their mamas, are somehow supposed to manage that, and hone that, and shape that for the greater good. No pressure, right?” Click here to read the rest of this post.

Thank you for this! This world absolutely needs mothers who are ready and willing to parent their daughters (and their sons) with boldness and courage. Beautiful, grace-filled piece.

Thank you for your comments, Becki. Fighting to be one of those bold and courageous mamas right along with you!

I loved this piece. I haven’t been a mom long but it is so easy to fall prey to the lies of the enemy and the pit of comparison. We can become consumed with doubts and question everything we do if we don’t hide our hearts in the truth of the Word of God. He tells us who we are and what we can do. Great, encouraging post!

You are exactly right, Rhiannon, finding our identity in Christ is key…and so freeing. That is indeed when we begin to have courage to live brave!
